These days few people trust politicians, journalists or civil servants. Instead the repositories of disinterested wisdom are two great institutes: the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) and the Institute for Government (IFG)...So when the IFS and the IFG unite to pronounce on the state of the economy ahead of the 2015-16 spending round...it’s worth listening.
