Working to make government more effective

In-person event

Improving IT workshop - scaling agile enterprise wide

Both the rapid evolution of technology and the complex problems faced by government require a much more flexible and agile approach to IT.

About this event

Both the rapid evolution of technology and the complex problems faced by government require a much more flexible and agile approach to IT.

Agile projects are typically modular, it-erative, responsive to change and have users at the core. However, many organisations fail to realise the full benefits that can be achieved as a result of scaling agile to an enterprise level.

This meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the experience of several private sector organisations that use agile methods at scale.

Key questions for discussion included:

  • How different is this approach and what benefits are realised?
  • What are the barriers and how are they overcome?
  • How does the corporate centre support this approach?

Speakers

There was a short presentation from several private sector organisations followed by a moderated roundtable discussion.  Presentations were delivered by:

  • HSBC
  • Deutsche Bank
  • Centrica
  • General Dynamics (MoD)
  • Napp Pharmaceuticals
  • Rolls-Royce
  • IPC Media.

This event was supported by Research In Motion.
