Parliament Week: Select Committee Question Time

The Institute for Government assembled a top panel from amongst the newest Commons select committee chairs to answer your questions.

As part of 2015’s Parliament Week the Institute for Government assembled a top panel from amongst the newest Commons select committee chairs to answer your questions.  Reversing normal roles, this event was designed to allow the people who are normally questioned by MPs - as witnesses before committees - the opportunity to put chairs themselves on the spot about their role in scrutiny and accountability.

The event was chaired by Mark D’Arcy, BBC Parliamentary Correspondent.  As well as fielding questions from the audience, he posed questions to the chairs which were sent in in advance by email.

Panellists:

Stephen Twigg MP, Chair of the International Development Committee

Pete Wishart MP, Chair of the Scottish Affairs Committee

Sarah Wollaston MP, Chair of the Health Select Committee
